We Feel And We Need

as people stand and talk
my mind starts to walk
i am lost and somewhere
i am not here, yet i am not there
i am not sure it is somewhere
where do you find yourself
when you are by yourself
do you find yourself window glaring
inwards and staring
looking towards the cold
a base for your soul
as people fall through
as they think, as they do
old things may not shine
like they are new
but they can still shine
as a light in your mind
and they can be a safe haven
that’s welcome when it is found
as people think and act
as they pull you up from the ground
avoiding some facts
can still get you down
as we sit and breathe
we feel and we need
