Shoes Do Not Fit
the shoes do not fit
and the road can no longer be walked upon
lightning,
has come and gone
and the price of our houses
has gone through the roof
and fun,
has become much more aloof
it’s all so different to the days when falling apart –
was a moment –
that meant we would just carry on
consumerism,
has monetised the setting sun
the shoes do not fit
the signs do not make any sense
and the lines no longer offer any kind of guide
people are so lost,
as they cling to the sides
lightning,
has come and gone
and when did we leave the field of being so young
the gate, it’s been left hanging to one side
now,
the cost of living no longer hides

Oh wow… outstanding lines!
Your words ring true – it feels like life got away from us… and it gets worse & worse every year.

Thank you 🙂 A lot of my writing drifts, it’s just there because i want to do it and i enjoy it. I think this is one of them where it’s rewarding to write but is less specific in actual meaning. There is a bit of politics in here. I also enjoyed that part as well.
