The Key I Have Had Cut – Written Thursday 22nd June 2023 (Aged 48)

The Key I Have Had Cut

i am confident –
because i am confident
and comfortable in what i do not know
it gives me pale skin
a special kind of glow
and when it comes to the bushfire on my ego
it dampens the parts that are likely to glow
but i am confident
when my ego gets excited
there is a gear which helps it slow
not knowing is the key
and it’s the key i have had cut
when the door into my ego is flung open
it helps me close it and lock it shut
collapsing in a heap that looks quite neat
held up with doubt in tow
i am confident and comfortable in what i do not know
it gives my wonky eyes a special kind of glow
let’s be part of a group who are in the know
let’s partake in the things which we do not know
