Romantic Comedies
she does not want to watch –
romantic comedies anymore
because in life,
romance ends with the slam of a door
and the softest touch
turns to a scratch from the sharpest claw
flowers have been put on hold
because in life,
summer comes and goes, then its cold
and the romantic comedies
seem like a story that should not be told
she does not want candles around the bath
and i can understand that
it feels like sadness has had the last laugh
and it was first in to bat
so many years in the past
she does not want to watch –
romantic comedies anymore
