Nine Years Ago
i looked through my diary –
from nine years ago
i saw a person who i no longer know
i read every single line
and wondered,
where does the time go
more to the point where has it gone?
i just do not know
once we all seemed so young
pages and pages of words
about a life –
bathed in tangible insecurity
a life wrapped up in the absurd
i cannot believe what is aw
i shed a tear for the loss
of this person i do not know anymore
where did they go
when did they walk out of the door
it was nine years aga
and what did i know then?
i always though i had a story to tell
but time has relentlessly marched on
who can really foretell the future
because so suddenly it has already gone
