A Little More Fact – Written September 2005 (Aged 30)

A Little More Fact

they said i was obsessive
sadly,
i am not
a little more fact
and,
what a lot i would have got
they said i was dependent on routine
said,
i am not,
i am just a lazy human being
they said,
i never maintain eye contact
but imagine it,
six years old and with milk bottle glasses
would you?
they said i was jealous
again,
sadly not,
i am not that human being
i am many colours
i said,
let’s get to know each other
i said it but all i saw was tears
i watched as they fixated on my partner
and the time we spend together
but,
she is my love
my fairweather friend
of course i annoy her to bits
so here i am,
justifying my relationship
this plea should not fit
they said so many things
but curiously they missed all of my faults
