You Are Not a Doctor
i am not a doctor
so i can not un-diagnose you
but you,
you were doctor enough
to diagnose my past
you were the –
‘special fortune teller’
to tell me all about the future
but you,
you never have a handle on the world
you never got yourself –
a reliable heater
the type that keeps out the cold
you will continue to have narrow vision
as you grow old
James Garratt – September 2005
