Layers of Time
layers of time
dig deep
dig well
because it is hard to sleep –
when your imagination –
tumbles down a well
layers of time
sediment almost rich
hanging onto hope
needs just one final wish
throw down rope
give us a ladder to climb
searching past the natural
layers of time
i will dig yours
if you dig mine
