Lip Service
paying lip service
it’s suits or jeans
each time –
someone holds the key to your dream
we like to measure success
but attack and abuse,
is what we do best
as human beings –
we are the rampant herd
trampling on each others feelings
paying lip service
please and thankyou
mind how you go
and how do you do
will you rescue me from the tip
and take me onto the new
strangers we do not really know
whom we play lip service to
hoping they unlock the dreams
the ones which we long to know
