There Is Something About a Boy and a Girl

there is something about a boy and a girl
something that always lurks just beneath
can they ever be just friends…
would their hearts share an occasional beat
there is something about opposites attract
that hidden conversation that settles
that always detracts and never really adds up
but subtract those repressed feelings
and it all makes sense
there is something about a boy and a girl
