Abused – Written Tuesday 2nd May 2006 (Aged 31)

Abused

abused,
an emotional punch bag
taking,
hit after hit
long after belief has split
abused,
but pretending it is fine
yet it lurks inside
taunting perfection
hiding from lies
abused,
taking it year after year
till there is a stain
made permanent by fear
and nothing,
nothing is ever clear
and the silence,
is never washed away by tears
abused,
it is fine,
we are so close
the truth though,
lies close to the knuckles
affection is just a ghost
and foundations easily buckle
