Swimming In Photographs of The Past
made my way back –
and swam in my photographs –
that showed a face –
of a person that i no longer knew
in those days,
we sat forwards
like we could smell the clues
there i was,
sat upon chairs of the past
back then i thought i was so funny
but now,
i’m not sure who had the last laugh
made my way back –
and swam in the people of my life
the past,
it feels very murky
yet it manages to have a bite
i found myself,
speaking to a person,
someone who i once drank up whole
now, in later years –
i see how she built a begging bowl
they said things,
but i wonder if i was ever truly caught
i know that life lessons,
they will always be taught
