The Sight of Humanity
i see it,
the vulnerability in people
i see it,
oozing from their pores
i see it,
joins and lines,
some of which,
have clearly broke over time
i see it,
the expanse of time
i see it,
i see all this in people
i see them,
i see their lost hopes and dreams
the stolen scenes,
the relationship,
that is not as it seems
i see it,
like an emotional net
i see it,
the lure of regret
i see it,
i see younger childhood
and a life,
almost left to let
i see all this the people i meet
because,
that is our humanity
that is often our own self calamity
and hanging,
from our own imprisoned walls
are the rich tapestries
of all the battles we have fought
i see it,
the raw humanity in people
and i see how comfort is readily sought
