Days Gone By
collective generational trauma
longing for a day,
or days gone by
a pat on the knee,
a wink or a nudge,
days at school,
days they hoped would never budge
now,
despite their families,
the present, the now, it’s not enough
and now,
they long for days,
that felt like an entitled club
young men,
lost in their youth,
drunk in pubs,
lost in patriarchal non truths
they long for some mystical day
that never did exist,
but now, reality,
it leaves them with life changing fits
collective generational trauma,
it never fits and it never lifts,
as these modern days fail to ever fit
now they find themselves,
somewhere else and somehow in bits
longing for days,
that truly no longer exist ,
a point of comfort and happiness
which turns to become a false comfort
