To Be Outside – Written Tuesday 24th September 2024 (Aged 49)

To Be Outside

i know what if feels like –
to be outside
i know how it feels –
when you feel you are open to the world
i know what it means –
to feel so exposed to the elements
and i know what it means –
when you are by nature,
restless,
i have lived for those expeditions
but there is no workshop –
that can easily repair some of our components
so, yes, i do know what it is like to be outside
especially when it becomes a personal winter
and all you feel is cold
i know what it feels like –
for the worst feelings to develop a normalisation
none us do well,
with such a lack of socialisation
