Rising Stars
rising stars,
only ever rise up—
and then fall back down.
shooting stars,
head towards the sky—
then back down to the ground.
rising stars, sit in the sky—
like a supernova,
like a light.
but i know –
there is a time limit on how long—
you can shine too bright.
me, a rising star—
with dreams fully alight,
me, a rising star—
but crashing back down so quick.
there is a magic—
in an imploding star,
but it is tragic,
when they never go that far.
the places they hit,
me, a rising star.
a star-lit story,
of a star-lit life,
my intelligence,
whip smart, savage with intellectual bite.
but hard, so hard—
for it to actually be relevant
and in fact, have a relevant place.
rising stars,
so quickly fall from grace.
these star-spangled rollercoasters,
the ups and downs in life,
they appear to be what i embrace.
and then, they appear to be my star-lit fate.
