Baffled by Free Market Capitalism
Free markets and capitalism seem to baffle people —
or at least, they’re an unwelcome surprise.
Jobs go elsewhere.
Cheap labour, cheap wages.
The provider is never the decider.
So then we put people in cages.
People invent a number of ways
which, hopefully, will make the component parts click.
But free markets —
at least for the ordinary person —
are a market that cannot be fixed.
You may think there is a way,
but that’s just a trick.
So there is denial,
an avoidance of the facts.
The reality, though,
stares people in their face.
But the reality is:
people turn their backs,
and continue this bizarre race.
There must be a cheat code,
some kind of hack —
some way of fixing the market,
some way to alter the stack.
But there is no answer.
There is no trick.
Free markets are never free,
and it’s a card game
where you can never stick.
