Paper and Plasticine
Empire building — but with paper and plasticine.
Self-made, home-made, man-made, person-made, woman-made.
Dreams. Workplace screens
painted with distant shades of 1930s green.
And then, their ego.
Boy, they must be lean,
because on self-belief, they seem to dream.
They must believe in their own empire building.
It must provide them with some kind of drug-like feeling.
But pull up the drawbridges — and make sure you know —
because sandbags are needed for their madness flow.
To me, there are no dreams,
not in places like this.
There is no true dream,
just empire building with paper and plasticine.
