Available For The High Jump

Ordinary has its appeal.
I’ve been made available for the high jump
and that does not feel fair.

I do it with all my love
and all my care.
I just want to be useful,
not confused.

And I do think ordinary has its appeal.
It’s like the first time
that I knew how to stand where I stood.
Conventions and fairs
made out of sustainable wood.

Let me pack you a picnic basket.

As it looks on.
As it stares.
