Wild Bore
Experiences mould you,
then they fold you,
and they fold you up,
and they try
to take you away.
People hold you,
shoulder your fear
and pain.
I look around
and I know
there is fearful change.
The world has exploded,
and every statement
has become so emotive.
I wonder if pain
is no more
than a runaway locomotive.
Experiences mould you,
then they change you,
and then they try
to put you back
into the stolen drawer
you hope,
that your age will reassure you
but you are never –
truly that sure
Emotionally,
we are governed
by our own
unknown laws,
and every person
of a certain generation
will always become
the wild bore.
