Days Far Away From Here
I thought about you and time —
all those years ago…
when we were young
and sat on a cusp;
days that felt like everything,
days that never quite felt enough.
And I thought about those days —
days
which felt so much younger.
And I thought about you;
I thought about the weave
of our lives.
And now, now I know
it is goodbye.
Oh,
but someone wipe these tears
from my eyes.
I spent today
nestled in the tears I cried,
and I cried for you —
I cried for days
that now live in our heads.
Lazy days,
times when the days
struggled to get out of bed.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye —
let all that pain
and mental‑health struggle
float away;
just let the life‑pain
go astray.
Goodbye to those times,
and goodbye to you.
I think of you,
and you live
inside our lives —
days covered in our love.
