shooting stars,
head towards the sky—
then back down to the ground.

looking around,
self-appointed experts abound.
but is truth,
so easily found?

it is a steady increase
on the terms of the lease
and every middle-aged person –
irons their memories to remove a crease

if the rivers are really that clean
toxic cultures,
are more like a steady stream
