So Many Goodbyes

so when the boat sails away
stand up and dry those eyes
the love you cherish so much
leaves for another shore
and evaporates like a touch
when the birds finally migrate
when they finally fly south
remember the love you had
it leaves a bad taste in your mouth
so when the person leaves
try to work through the moments
when you are truly cherished 
by one of those stray memories
that reminds you,
when you were loved
i always knew that they,
they would do this
so when the boat sails away
stand up and dry those eyes
life is so full of many moments
and sadly, so many goodbyes
