they said ‘social services’ had failed again
of course I m biased
but of course the actual failure is far greater
we live in a society that happily mocks –
the so called ’under class’, they are the –
backbone of comedy, a way in which we –
make ourselves feel better.
(I am not like them…)
yet when they start pulling children from –
under beds, families with no opportunities –
when their dysfunctional lives peep from –
the t.v screen or the morning papers –
people quickly recoil in horror, because in truth –
it is too close to home.
it is the underbelly of our sick society that –
and no one wants to see it.
so they blame ‘social services’.
it is them, they have failed, them alone, obviously
so let’s pretend that society is not a collective
as if the ability to take part and affect change
is someone how elective
