Looking After Myself

i need to look after myself
no one seems to realise
that I am on a roller coaster
you just see me barely coping,
perhaps never realising,
that my heart is eloping
self belief has had an affair.
with insanity,
and now neither of them care,
that they have changed my reality
or that the cupboards can be bare
i need to look after myself
and for you to be there
