will there be a way back
to what went before
i can’t imagine it
no, not anymore
self expression runs like a train
responsible for me
and no reason to complain
nothing to lose
and everything to gain
will there be a way back?
to the life I lived before
it will take a special person
someone who will need much more
than a dose of life’s changeable luck

but then, you never know
