We Get The Society We Tolerate

we get the society
we tolerate
no matter how much –
one might protest
this is what you get
through sheer acceptance
no, i accept, we cannot,
spend our days,
tearing down all the walls
and taking to the, ‘streets’
the mechanisms of life
and the institutions of the state
put so much of our path –
in a factory
which, in turn,
produces so much of our fate
but this tolerance
of things as they drift by
this is the society we tolerate
this is the society acceptance makes
