Not Her Day
it was not her day
a bill too much to pay
but at least we had plenty to say
it was not her chance
it was an awkward dance
so young, so in debt
close the curtains, do not fret
a quiet glace at what could have been
dipping your toes,
make sure the water is clean
i have been to a few exotic places
i can remember a lot of scenes
and not so great faces
it was not her day
a lot of thought and not much play
