When You Know Others just Tread Water

it must be difficult
when a life
worked hard to create
then make work
falls apart in hate
when you know
others just tread water
feeling funny
trying to be attractive
when staying afloat
it is hard,
when the father has stolen a boat
and the make up
just sinks to the sea bed
dreams are dead
but no one watched your news
you can feed the birds
but it is hard with the loneliest views
with the children
and the organising
no time to sit down
it is just different types of playing
hide and seek
but not the hiding
