Scratch the Itch

i have seen those people
who proclaim, ‘perfection’
i have seen their smiles
their lives
but you never –
see deep inside
a way round the truth
an interesting bypass
i have seen those verdicts
those judgement’s
like runaway trains
i have seen quasi religions
deeply proclaim
but who are those people
and who knows them
they build a life
held together by the tightest stitch
but in their heads
they long to scratch an itch
