if now –
was back then
how different,
my rusted glen
how hopeful,
my mountain top
how fine,
my dainty river

if now –
was back then
parcels would deliver
how good,
would have it been
to sculpt my dream
from,
shades of the weather

if now –
had been back then
and i had been better
if only,
i had not corrupted me
with dangerous ink
if now –
had been back then
if only i had learned to think
