Words Can Build a Time Machine

it batters me in this moment
where comments
act like turbulence
pushing me from side to side
this is where i am least strong
yet,
i need to and have to, carry on
a couple of words
build a time machine
and i am taken back to childhood
and harder times
any instance
of pushed power
starts an elemental like reaction
oh my,
hold me to distraction
a couple of words
a sentence,
builds a time machine
set to previous nightmares
and never sweet smelling dreams
