Maintaining a Sense of Balance

i cannot maintain no sense of balance
not in this world anyway
i cannot properly comprehend
what is going on,
i cannot make my moves
across the board,
cannot move back, cannot move forwards
if i step sideways
i am knocked out and in a daze
people advertise like lonely hearts
their personalities split.
and well and truly fall apart
misfits, misread, misunderstood
all need a gang apart from their own
i cannot make no sense of it all
yes i am part of it all
where does this leave me?
where does this leave all of us?
my eyes check twice,
when i read the papers daily
are we all underachievers
who is failing who?
is it us or is it something else
that is failing me and you
or is it none of thee
i cannot maintain no sense of balance
