The Skittles of Self Esteem
when you have been treated appallingly
how do you resolve that inside?
do you chase personal justice –
or does it have to lie
when you start to reflect
and personally, you wonder why
i see all these people
screaming about fairness
but –
when you have been treated appallingly
where are they to protect you?
they seem to slide off –
down desks and down the walls
as your confidence falls
and they bowl deadly bowling balls
at the skittles of your self esteem
when you have been treated appallingly
by people ll too willingly
how do you make it light inside
how do you not blame yourself
so hard, so hard, hard to know –
and hard to know why
