Everything We Try
shielded from lights too bright
by your face as dark as the night
held back from pits of fire
by the voice they said is a liar
everyone who they say,
we should never trust
seems okay and is a must
and the one who is most bad for us
is the one who inspires the most lust
cuddled by the person,
who was never really there
and told by that person who has no reason
that they are the only one who really cares
seeing nothing but straight ahead
but from the sides,
i see the signs i should have read
everything is strange now
no reason to fly,
everything that is bad for us
seems to be everything that we try
