I Was Left Here – December 1996 (Originally Untitled)

I Was Left Here

i was left here
i was put upon to stay here
like a grumpy child i sit
taking out the moisture from my tears
building a boat out of my fear
and sailing away –
down some imaginary river
me, skulking off like a snake
not so eager to sliver
i am meant to be here
like all of us
but somehow i feel like complaining
if is not fighting
then it is raining
and if that brings lightning
that means i will not be going sailing
down my imaginary river
