Insulation – Written Monday 7th October 2019 (Aged 44)

Insulation

politicians were insulated from –
the consequence
of their actions and decisions
but that vote –
voted all that away
suddenly consequence was not tomorrow
it was today
now,
without insulation
they are exposed –
to the cold reality of their choices
the chorus
of disillusioned voters voices
no we see the ill effect
of a bitter ideological wind
how far ‘populism’ will go –
to call itself a friend
with no insulation –
to offset the cold
the only heat available –
is from the decisions which scold
if you attempt –
to tear apart the fabric of society
you may lose the stuffing
and the final reality
and all this happened because of bluffing
