A Mountain to Climb (Originally Untitled) – Written Friday 15th July 2005 (Aged 30)

A Mountain to Climb

our problems seems mammoth
a mountain to climb
people ask how i am
all i can say is, fine
sweet smiles surround me
as i feel the heat of time
a furnace flame flickers
in the corridors of my mind
i look at you as if it was crystal
but it is never really clear
i reach out with loving arms
that long to pull you near
but all these years of competition
have really taken their toll
it is sad the damage parents can do
in an attempt to mold
people ask about us
and i urge them to ask you
they want to know what you have to say
but deep set mistrust of people
means you will only turn them away
our problems seem vast
a real mountain to climb
i guess we must explore our hearts
i guess it will take time
