Feeling Worthless – Written Sunday 24th July 2005 (Aged 30)

Feeling Worthless

cannot love,
if you were never loved
you hate yourself
but confess all to a stranger
you feel worthless
you have no self esteem
but you foster a dream
and live it through the eyes of someone else
but it clings to your low self esteem
and because you lose
you just end up abused
can’t love,
if you have never been shown love
cannot pretend that someone else
it will solve all your problems
you cut yourself to feel pain
in reality you are flooded by tears
and swamped by fear
you talk of someone saving your life
salvation beyond the knife
you feel worthless
and a failure inside
nothing can hide the truth though
eventually you just can’t hide from the lie
