The Problem is You – Written Tuesday 19th July 2005 (Aged 30)

The Problem is You

you said you cared
that you were a caring person
but i saw you scared
the bitterness and the intolerance
which is hiding in there
a mind never really set free
a mind that yearns for escapism
on thursday, when the bombs went off
i saw your thick eared racism
i saw the forked tongue of sin
as your ignorance bubbled over
and you said, they let, ‘too many in’
i knew then that you did not care
it was a bad disguise
for a bitter nasty person who is scared
you talk of the, ‘good old days’
when were these?
when life robbed people of opportunity
when it left them on their knees
people like you make me sick
with your pretence,
the way it is you who always starts to bitch
on thursday, when those bombs went off
i realised that if this world is to be free
the problem was not colour or creed
in fact, it was sitting next to me
