Enjoying the Year

everyone enjoyed the year
some people made it
some slipped on their tears
everyone said it was good
but not it is almost gone
now everyone is making plans
for the next one
hoping it will be good
some people fell apart
but still they cling onto each other
because they are so in love
they have got to be together
some people lost their mind
some lost their innocence
cynics always find that hard to find
i have got a friend,
had the worst year of his life
thankfully met a singer and a dancer
and now it is almost alright
because he does not slip away
when she holds him tight
and he wants to stay
when the day gets dressed up as the night
so much laughter, so much fear
so much pain
but everyone enjoyed the year
but it would be hard to live it again
