The Empty Doorway
the empty doorway
is where we place our dreams
the cupboard –
under life’s stairs
is where we put our care
and, for what it is worth
it is easy to feel such hurt
they broke me as a child
whilst fighting –
in the stormiest weather
neither had a care for instructions
so neither wanted to put me back together
and now,
we look at the empty doorway
shall we go through?
if it made your heart content
what would you like to do?
the places –
built by time
homes –
for the memories in our mind
the empty doorway
is where we place our dreams
