Walking Out – Written Tuesday 19th October 1999 (Aged 24)

Walking Out

walking out,
walking out on the rain
the days at work
that just do not work
that will not work
and they never work
walking out,
on a friend from school
too much said
somehow seems cruel
the maze inside his head
i will let him find himself
as he looks further afield
and feels more alone
to see what the harvest yields
if only he would look closer to home
walking out,
on non-understanding
and opinions that do not count
days of change that only ever rain
you know, when it pours down
this is not for me
walking out,
on all this insanity
