I Read Some Poetry Today

i read some poetry today
and noticed –
how well it waltzed across the floor
how rich it was
and how mine felt so poor
i watched the verses –
put on a dazzling linguistic display
each line knew what to say
mine however,
has chosen to pack up its words and run away

i read some some poetry today
and i delighted in its form
it had emerged victorious –
mine however, it look rather forlorn
i watched the lines –
dance effortlessly
to the sound of the perfect song
each space and each gap
was lit by a dazzling match
