Wallet and Phone
i am sitting here with your things
your paperwork, your wallet and phone
and me insides just feel all alone
i feel like i should not have them
i feel like this is too intimate
for someone who avoided intimacy
i feel like i have lost a part of me
and that, this rock face
that for so long we have both clung to
has finally smoothed out
as you let go and move onto another place
i am sitting here with your things
your paperwork, your wallet and phone
and i think about your life
its platform destinations
the timetables never kept to
the way you would roam as the likely suspect
and i look at your paperwork
as it is, the last and strangest gifts
for someone who avoided intimacy
or for whom it was a terrifying struggle
this reflects our relationship
and shows it was a permanent muddle
here i am with your bits and pieces
