I Am Not the Answer

i am not the answer
or the magic pill
the excitement of the moment
or the cheap thrill
i am not the sum
the get out clause
or the key to locked doors
i am not the cure
the sudden fix
needle and thread
to mend life’s many rips
i am not the shoulder
above all others
the heartfelt look
or the warmth of duvet covers
i am not the season
that comes with glee
i am not the reason
i am only ever me
