Deep Inside – Written Wednesday 4th January 2006 (Aged 30)

Deep Inside

i looked at them
with hair held high
i thought about the past
and then i let out a sigh
if only i had been wiser
if only i had tried
no godo now,
tripping on dreams,
that do not last
the only thing i know
is the meaning of past
i looked at them
and i remembered the smile
when it was the light of my room
when it undid the knot
when it sung its beautiful tune
what could i say
that was given up
to the emptiness of yesterday
if only i had been wiser
with hair held high
and i felt those memories
swim deep inside
