Which Wars Are You Choosing?

suddenly –
when you realise
a person of colour
can lose their life
because of the colour of their skin
then all this talk of brexit, looks a bit ‘white’
we forget,
that people like me live in relative luxury
we fight the battles
but do we fight the war?
do we only take action –
when they politicise our front doors
we cannot,
always be completely focused –
on this bigger picture
but as we are standing here –
in the current art gallery
let’s truly examine the pictures
the ones we often overlook
there are truths that need to be told
these powerbrokers –
sow division and disillusion in such cold
suddenly we realise –
how great fucked people are
our white skin musing –
looks indulgent and less important
so, which wars are you choosing?
