Slip Away
today i saw another dream slip away
it fell right through my fingers
and yet, so little to say
i cannot wash away the feeling inside
tears just do not work
there is not outside smile
and i cannot deceive or hide the hurt
today i saw another dream slip away
today i saw another dream slip away
i had it in my grasp,
i could smell it, i could almost touch it
dreams, why do they never seem to last
my eyes tell a story of what has been lost
and my hope does not know where to go
or the actual cost
today i saw another dream slip away
