Curl Up and Join Me
could shut out this world
could curl up in a ball
could not feel less of a fool
could make sandcastles
as the tide ebbs at my feet
could hold my hands up
could find a different beat
tried to take a deep breath
it is so hard,
when dreams die a sudden death
who will clear up this mess
could curl up in a ball
and just go to sleep
just as i did as a child
hoping for a while,
that with my dilapidated smile
i would find my imaginary world
could feel the sound of clocks
could not hurry or even stop
like the seagulls out to sea
curl up and join me
